Please get the word out to any Troop 24 alumni who would like to attend.

As well as being a continuously charted troop for 95 years, Troop 24 was involved in founding of Camp Wolfeboro in 1928 and is the only troop to have been there every summer since.

The current Scout Master is Dave Shaw who joined the troop, a parent of 2 scouts, in 2001. He took over as Scout Master 10 years ago and is still mentoring scouts, Assistant Scout Masters and parents alike.

Scout Masters:

1920-24: Percy Shelley
1924-25: Louis Landau (SPL)
1926-26: John Parsons Campbell
1927-35: Fred A. Flanders
1935-52: Alfred E. Maybe
1953-56: Walter P. Gardner
1956-61: George F. Gaebler
1961-67: Alfred E. Maybe
1967-68: Ralph Cummings
1968-76: George F. Gaebler
1977-91: Ed Jensen
1991-94: Tom Cintron
1994-04: Alan R. Houser
2005-??: Dave Shaw

The troop is currently at its biggest enrollment for a long time. A recent influx of young scouts has brought the troop to over 60 scouts and with them an influx of active parents who are taking on new roles as Assistant Scout Masters and members of the Troop Committee. At the other end of the age range, this year two scouts – at least – will attain the rank of Eagle Scout, and two scouts have aged out and now signed on as Assistant Scout Masters.

The Troop continues to hike, camp, backpack in the sun and the snow, as well as take part in service projects and community events.

Troop 24 is in excellent shape to make it to it’s 100th anniversary and welcomes any who would like to join in the journey.
