Camping at Las Trampas Regional Wilderness

When: Sat., Jan. 30-Sun., Jan 31.
Where: Las Trampas Regional Wilderness.
Details: Overnight camp out. More details to follow.

Stinson Beach Hike

When: Sat., Feb. 6.
Where: Stinson Beach.
Details: A 10 Miler in Marin County. More details to follow.

Scout Sunday

When: Sun., Feb. 7.
Where: Saint Mary Magdalen church.
Details: Attend mass at Saint Mary Magdalen church. Full Class A uniform required.

Upcoming Events (Calendar)

  • Jan. 26, 2016: Scout parent Trish H. will discuss constitutional rights and obligations as a US citizen. If you need this requirement (for 1st class), make sure you attend this troop meeting!
  • Feb. 12-15, 2016: Mount Shasta Ski Trip. Troop 24 camping/skiing (at a lodge) at Mt. Shasta. This site has fewer people and affordable ski lifts. Join the troop for this traditional, usually annual event!
  • Mar. 4-6, 2016: Klondike Derby (A camporee in the snow) at Camp Marin Sierra. Winter Camping training is a pre-requisite! See the calendar entry.
  • Mar. 12, 2016: The CHECK merit badge expo. will be held at Camp Herms. See ASM Roy’s email for details.
  • Apr. 30-May 1, 2016: Overnight camping at Sunset Beach and kayaking at Elkhorn Slough! Join the troop for this fun event with guides for kayaking Elkhorn Slough in Monterey County. The cost will be the usual $10 for overnight camping and $20 for the kayaking. Scouts who want to attend need to pass a swim test, and also attend 1 outing and 1 campout with the troop!

  • Contact ASM Roy if you are interested in Den Chief training on Sat., Jan. 30, 2016 (to be verified).
  • If you have ideas for a totem pole design, bring them to the 1/26 meeting!
  • Rank requirements have changed, see here for more details.
  • It is time to think about Wolfeboro again! See Julie’s email or here for more details. You can reserve a space by paying a non-refundable $50 deposit by 2/2.
  • Medical forms: Scouts & adult leaders, if you have a medical appointment, have your doctor fill out Part C of the medical form. Part C is needed for any event over 72 hours (such as Wolfeboro).
  • The Seabase crew is collecting recyclables to raise funds for their trip. Please bring any recyclables to scout meetings to help them reach their goal!
