The 442nd combat regiment was chiefly made up of Japanese internees. Each May, Troop 24 provides the flag ceremony at the start of a memorial which takes place in Robert Regional Park. The friends and families of the few remaining 442nd survivors provide a wonderful picnic and it is a good chance to hear their stories.
Flag ceremony at noon. Picnic follows. Meet at 11am at the park, in the lower parking lot.
This counts as service hours for scouts.
