Webeloree Cancelled!

The Webeloree has been cancelled due to air quality concerns.

Congratulations to the Troop 24 scouts who put in a great showing at the Scout-O last Sunday!

Wreath sales will be here soon. Every scout is expected to sell 10 wreaths.

At the upcoming (10/17) meeting the skills instruction will be backpacking first aid and food, the patrol corners will make patrol flags; Patrol leaders please be prepared to come up with a design.

Upcoming Events (Calendar)

  • Oct. 21: Jamboree on the Air (JOTA). You can talk to scouts from all around the world that day at Jamboree on the Air. Radio and electricity merit badges will be offered there.
  • Oct. 21: Stemoree. Merit badge opportunities relating to STEM will be offered.
  • Oct. 21-22: JOTA Security. You can spend the night in the San Ramon Marriott conference room providing security services for all of the radio equipment.
  • Oct. 28-29: Backpacking at Portola Redwoods (map).
  • Nov. 4: REI trail service. A trail service project sponsored by REI and catered by Chipotle.  If you go, you get a T-shirt and entered into a raffle for items such as backpacks or shirts.
  • Nov. 4 (Possibly the 5th) : Scouting for food drop-off: Put bags on doorsteps of houses in the neighborhood to collect food donations. Starts at 10am.
  • Nov. 11: Veterans Day flag planting: Go to Sunset Cemetery and plant flags at the graves of fallen soldiers.  Starts at 7:45am.  There will be donuts.
  • Nov. 11: Scouting for food pick-up: Collect the bags from the previous weekend. Starts at 9:30am after the flag planting.

  • Note: Permission slips are attached to troop calendar events. If no check/cash is required, a scan of the permission slip can be emailed to permissionslip@troop24berkeley.org
  • Please, pretty please use your son’s scout account as the primary means of payment. See here for more details (link).
  • Thanks to all parents who legibly write their scout’s name and purpose of payment on the memo. line of the check! If you absolutely must pay with cash, please attach a note with the scout’s name and purpose of payment; otherwise it may become a contribution to the webmaster’s Bermuda fund.
