We need more Den Chiefs! Contact any member of the Senior Patrol if you are interested. It qualifies as a leadership position for rank advancement. Rank requirements must be completed by the end of the year if you want to use the old requirements.

Stream Trains Hike

When: Sat., Oct. 22. We will meet at 8:30am at the church.
Where: The hike will be at the Stream Trains.
Details: We will hike about 10 miles. Please pack a lunch & water.

Upcoming Events (Calendar)

  • Oct. 29-30, 2016: Introductory backpack at Glen Camp, Point Reyes. A great introductory trip for scouts who have never been backpacking before. If you have questions about gear or what to bring, ask any member of the senior patrol. We will assist scouts in packing their backpack at the 10/25 meeting so if you are unsure about how to pack bring your pack along with all your gear.
  • Nov. 5, 2016: REI Bay Ridge trail service. Details are being finalized; there may be an age requirement.
  • Nov. 11, 2016: Veterans Day flag planting. There will be free doughnuts.
  • Nov. 12, 2016: Scouting for Food drop off. This is a service event and will not conflict with Brannan Island camping. Permission slips are not required for this.
  • Nov. 12-13, 2016: Camping at Brannan Island. We will invite Webelos. Troop Guides are encouraged to attend.
  • Nov. 19, 2016: Scouting for Food pick up. This is a service event. Permission slips are not required for this.
  • Nov. 25, 2016: Day after Thanksgiving hike. This is a family event, there will be 5 and 10 mile options.
  • Dec. 10-11, 2016: Jenkinson Lake camping. This is also a fishing trip.

Notes

  • Note: Permission slips are attached to troop calendar events. If no check/cash is required, a scan of the permission slip can be emailed to permissionslip@troop24berkeley.org.
  • The Seabase crew are still in arrears. Please help them by bringing cans & bottles so they can recycle them.
  • Thanks to all parents who legibly write their scout’s name and purpose of payment on the memo. line of the check! At present, checks are the preferred means of payment, but we take cash or Paypal ☺.
  • You can check your scout account at the Troop meetings.
