Golden Gate Urban Hike

When: Sat., Jan. 21: Meet at the church at 7:30am sharp.
Where: Golden Gate Bridge.
Details: Bring a pack lunch. Philmont folks should have a full backpack.

  • Jan.  27: LEAD – This is mainly a training opportunity for adult leaders. Den Chief training for scouts the age of 13 and higher and first class will be offered as well as CPR certification for scouts 14 and up. The price is $20 for scouts, $45 for adults. Contact SM Dave for more information and if you want to sign up.
  • Jan. 28: Soup Kitchen Service Project. There is limited space and it will take place at the church. If you are interested please email Gabriel H. to sign up or come to the next meeting and he will have a sign up sheet available.
  • Feb. 11: Scout Sunday. Celebrate the anniversary of the founding of Boy Scouts by attending a church service in Class A uniform. Saint Mary Magdalene Church is our charter organization, so please consider attending service there if feasible.
  • Feb. 16-19: Family Ski Trip. This is a family friendly event. Location and length are to be decided.
  • Feb. 24-25: Brannan Island (map) camping & biking. This is a good opportunity to go biking with our troop.

Day After Thanksgiving Hike

When: Fri., Nov. 24: Meet at the church at 7:45am to leave at 8am.
Where: Meet at the church; hike will be at Portola Discovery Site
Details: Bring family & Webelos! The hike will be at the Portola Discovery Site and meeting in Lot C of Skyline College. Bring all the usual hiking gear; water, 10 essentials, etc. Bring a pack lunch!

  • Dec. 3: Orienteering at Las Trampas (map) with the BAOC. Many different courses with varying levels of difficulty will be offered. Orienteering is a fun way to get outside and practice your scouting skills. All levels welcome!

Camp Berryessa Camping

When: Fri., Nov. 17-Sun., Nov. 19: Meet at the church at 6:30pm.
Where: Meet at the church.
Details: You can stay in cabins or in your own tent. You can swim if you have completed the BSA swim test in the last year (see SM Dave’s email). Eat dinner before departing on Friday and bring a sleeping bag & rain gear. See Trevor’s email for more detail.

When: Sat., Nov. 11: Meet at the cemetery at 7:45am.
Where: Meet at Sunset Cemetery (map).
Details: Plant flags at the graves of fallen soldiers. There will be donuts. Bring a big screwdriver to make holes for the flags.

Scouting for Food Pick-Up

When: Sat., Nov. 11: Meet after flag planting at about 10:30am.
Where: The church.
